I'm a long time patron of Bluestone, but today my wife surprised me with a Glutin Free Dark Chocolate cake from the bakery. Excellent cake! Thanks.

Nothing to write home about, but reliable on affordable. Its my go-to spot in downtown grants pass for a reasonable priced lunch or breakfast. The pastries are pretty good, the coffee is adequate as well, and I have no complaints about the staff. Compared to the rest of the city, it definetely deserves 4 stars.

This is always a must visit place when I need coffee & I'm in town visiting my family. Coffee drinks are great! Food is great, from their sandwiches to their pastries. My sister ordered my wedding cake from the bakery and it was the BEST carrot cake I've had to this day! The owner (or manager, not sure) was also very kind to me when my mom was in the hospital and he let me work there in the evening while he was doing floors and cleaning up for the night, even though they were closed. I was very grateful for this because had I not gotten to work from there in the afternoon & evening, I would not have been able to come up and visit my mom in the hospital. Hence, I'd order lunch and dinner and work from one of the tables. I felt bad for hogging a table and the WiFI and I don't think many places would have accommodated me for 4+ hours, three days in a row. :-) This is definitely a place worthy of a stop whether you're local or visiting.

If you hate coffee, go to Dutch Bros. Otherwise, have some great coffee at Bluestone! Plus the food is fantastic. So far, this is my favorite place to get coffee in Grants Pass. Plus free wi-fi! My only complaint is how early they close...

Skip Dutch Bros. Great coffee and enormous baked goods. A nice sunny place to sit and enjoy good conversation or catch up on some quality reading.
(4)Kate P.
I really like their food, their service and how roomy they are.
(4)Brian P.
Good food and atmosphere.
(4)Felix B.
Better coffee than Dutch bros, better menu overall, and some tasty sandwiches. -1 star only because Dutch Bros. does top them for the atmosphere of the joint. Makes me wish DB would up their coffee quality so I would not be tempted across the street!
(4)Craig H.
Excellent BLT! The chips are awesome too! Really good mocha too! Kids loved their sandwiches, and with our picky kids, that's saying something!
(5)Rafal N.
Croissants sandwich was good, tuna sandwich not so good. Coffee watered down, hot chocolate was OK. I asked for a sandwich on a bagel instead of ban. The guy charged full price plus the bagel-rip off! Overall OK but overpriced!
(2)Raquel D.
A bit pricey and nothing special about the food. Sorry people but I wasn't sold on ever coming back.

Religious, rude, condescending staff & owners; mediocre food. We have tried many times to have a happy healthy meal here and only once has the staff been polite or the food decent. If you value respect and common human decency, avoid this church group and go somewhere healthier.

They were lying the quiche was not world class it was pretty good tho. Everything other than the not quite world class quiche an their world class agua is bad.

Coffee shop-bakery hybrids are in a realm of their own when it comes to the Northwest, and Blue Stone has a perky potential to it's shortcomings. Digs: It's jagged L-shaped property views the main strip of Grants Pass (or the classic "downtown"); the usual suspects here - local artists' paintings scatter the walls, color scheme safe for the demographic; chalk board menu's with quirky names to boot; shimmering glass display of gluten and small non-gluten selection Ate: Menu called it "Yougotatrythis"...or "yougotta something ridiculous but fun sandwich; Comprised on cranberry, turkey, cream cheese, inbetween pillow-esque bread that was maybe a light ciabatta bread? Drank: Shot in the dark (coffee with a shot mixed in) - dark and to the point $: Even though I missed the quiche selection, they need to revitalize there options. Word play with the menu is great but there are no real surprises or edible adventures here with the $ they are charging. Coffee seems to be their strength...for now.

Had a cookie, a sandwich and a coffee. Every other bite I was pulling a fuzz off :( totally grossed out. Food wasn't that great to begin with, but I don't do hair or fuzz. Haven't been in a long time. Don't plan to return.

Great tea and coffee. Pastries and breakfast sandwiches are delicious and use fresh ingredients. Good spot for a quick and satisfying breakfast.

My first bakery experience since movin back to Grants Pass. I should have passed this right up. I walk in and the place is a cluster-fuck of tables. Can barely move around. They say fresh baked goods and I had a freezing cold blueberry muffin. Huh? Yea, not so fresh baked. The counter area was cluttered with "stuff". The tops of the display cases were cluttered with more "stuff". I saw one of the workers behind the counter grabbing multiple thick slices of quiche with her bare hands. How hard is it to wear a plastic glove if that is how you are going to choose to handle the food? I felt very disoriented when the whole time i was there. They also charged full price even though I brought in my own travel mug for my latte. Most places will give a small "environmental" discount. I definately will not be returning there, nor will I be taking my out of town friends there when they visit beautiful Grants Pass, OR.

Great coffee, service and food! Worth getting off the freeway and going into town for this place.
(5)claire D.
A great coffee, pastry meeting place. YUMMMYY Mochas, made perfect every time. Great bran muffins. Nice and friendly staff. Recommend for sure. ;)
(4)Mike H.
The breakfast bun is delicious! It's hamburger size, hot and delicious and on a tasty homemade yeast bun! It's that good!
(5)Mary M.
Had an ok meal here. Got a sandwich and chicken curry stew. The sandwich bread was way too soft and the entire half fell apart after two bites. The bacon on the sandwich was the kind that comes pre cooked. Ugh. The curry stew was quite good however! Had a coffee that was way too sweet for my taste. Couldn't take more than a few sips. Overall experience was so-so.

On the way to Eureka, CA my boyfriend and I were looking for a place to stretch our legs and get some much needed refreshments on the start of a fantastic road trip. We stopped in Grants Pass because we were intrigued by the city and because a book suggested this place. I really liked this cafe from the second I stepped into the building. Art decorated the walls and the atmosphere was friendly and inviting. It was pretty busy when we arrived and I saw that it wasn't just frequented by twenty-somethings on laptops. It is always refreshing to see people of all age groups enjoying something together. The service was great. The cashier moved the line along while still managing to laugh and chat with the patrons. I ordered a Cookies and Creme "bumpy" (or iced blended mocha) and I split a Yougonnalikeit Sandwich with my guy. The sweet treat I got was awesome! It was indulgent but not too sweet. I could taste the coffee flavor through the giant chunks of cookies. They even put a giant straw the drink so that slurping the pieces of cookies was a piece of cake! The sandwich was tasty as well. It had a generous amount of turkey with cream cheese, lettuce, cranberries and jack cheese. We opted out of getting the mayo. It was a good combination of flavors and I would get it again. Overall, we enjoyed our stop at Blue Stone. I wish Grants Pass was closer!

BlueStone is everything I want in a cafe: it has a nice atmosphere with art on the walls, big windows, and plenty of seats, clean bathrooms, parking, and good enough coffee. If this cafe were in San Jose it'd be a staple writing/coffee date destination. Every time I visit my family in Oregon, I stop by this cafe for some alone time where I can get work done, and this past weekend was no exception.

Love this place! A great little Grants Pass gem if you're getting tired of the same ol' Dutch Bros. routine. I love that they feature local artists' work inside and have amazing pastries. Their veggie panini is to die for... perfect spot for a midweek lunch with a friend! The only thing I would have to say I absolutely don't like about Blue Stone is the fact that they use styrofoam for their takeout. Big no no, in my opinion. Switch it up to paper or reusable takeout containers and they'd be golden!
(4)Liz K.
Awesome sandwiches and amazing bread. I have to admit I usually ditch the bread on many sandwiches as it isn't anything worthwhile and not worth the calories, not here! The bread is fresh soft and chewy with a sourdough flavor, so amazing! I like their veggie or turkey and they always serve a pickle on the side :) You can call ahead and get it started which makes it faster than the drive thru options and there's lots of parking! Well worth the stop!

I've passed Blue Stone so often when driving through town that I decided to try it one Saturday morning. I had high hopes after reading the great reviews and was sadly let down. The layout is cute and brightly-colored which reminds me of a place I would see in Portland. After I sat down, I noticed that 75% of the tables were covered with dirty dishes or trash. Gross and not very appetizing. My fiancee and I each ordered a drink and I got one of their breakfast items. My mocha was room temperature and my fiancee's hot chocolate tasted like it was from powdered chocolate and water. Pretty sad when I could have gotten a better coffee from the Dutch Brothers place across the street. I had the egg quesadilla and was utterly disappointed. The eggs were not hot (cooler than room temperature) and all of the ingredients were bland; most likely they were either canned or way under-ripe. Not what I would have expected after reading such good reviews.

If you are traveling through Grant's Pass and need a good coffee or nice lunch or snack, Bluestone is the best we have found. They know the difference between a true macchiato and a big, sugary Starbucks drink. If you cannot make it to Noble in Ashland, or are cutting over to the coast, Bluestone is a very fine place to stop.
(5)David B.
The coffee is wonderful. The "Bakery" is so-so. I really wouldn't call this a bakery. More like a coffee house with a few baked snacks and cakes. There are no artisan breads here, no pastries to take home. Our beautiful town needs a quality bakery. This isn't it. But still a fun place to go for a coffee and a snack or light lunch.

--- Wifi, power, and great coffee without attitude - what more needed? --- Not that easy to find wifi in Grants Pass. If you exclude hotels, the remaining half dozen establishments are mostly lacking power outlets. The remaining two (open to suggestions i

Let me just start by saying the only reason I opened a yelp account was to share my food horror story and warn people not to eat here. We were starving when we rolled through town on a road trip. We ordered an "open faced omelet," a panini supposedly filled with "crisp bacon" and an apple streusel muffin to tide us over till breakfast came. The muffin was FROZEN! Not cold- FROZEN. Signs boasting "fresh baked goods" were everywhere. Lies. One bit was it for me. When my "omelet" came it was obvious it was microwaved eggs with stuff thrown on top. Lukewarm cheese and ham on rubbery eggs?! Disgusting. My mom was fine with her panini until she got a nasty bite of bacon and decided to open up her sandwich. The bacon was almost RAW! We both almost threw up. When we took the FROZEN muffing and the RAW bacon sandwich to the counter the staff were snotty and rude. She said the bacon came "precooked" and offered to microwave the muffin for us. FALSE ADVERTISING. IF YOU'RE GOING TO SERVE COSTCO PASTRIES AND MICROWAVE DINNERS DON'T CALL YOURSELF A CAFE/BAKERY.

there is a stingy vibe there that made me switch to another establishment... i used to frequent on my visits to the area but no longer go... they had signs posted all over, long notices about coffee shop etiquette, to let people know that you had to continue to purchase drinks to sit and use the wifi. (and it was NEVER crowded when I went). i like to stop in to a coffee shop to have coffee and read or check email for an hour... i also thought they were a little pricey... better to drive through Dutch Brothers and stay in the car if your going to be rushed along... the coffee was just okay... i like my cappucino wet, but extra foamy and the lady seemed annoyed that I would ask her to make it a certain way. you would think that someone in this business would understand and expect that people are particular about their morning ritual cuppa coffee and to just go with it without the stingy attitude... customer service and atmosphere is everything.... wake up and smell the coffee bluestone!

Slow, rude service, mediocre overpriced drinks as well as internet that rarely works (the only reason I continued to patronize until now). Better everything at Dutch Bros across the street. So much for supporting the little guys, in this case they are jerks.
(1)Bob I.
I've only gotten coffee here once, but it was fine. When you read all the one star reviews, and they were all seemingly written by folks who either created a Yelp account simply to gripe about this place, doesn't it seem suspicious? Somebody got pissed off, or it's a disgruntled former employee and a bunch of his friends getting together simply to trash a places reputation....does anyone care what a person who has only written one review thinks about a place? Again coffee was fine, I had no complaints. I will go back again!
(3)Laura W.
Yummy and healthy food for breakfast or lunch. Everything is baked and made fresh there. Love the chili and soups. Quiche's and sandwiches are very tasty too. Very small but cozy. Love the internet capability! I am grateful to have found this little gem. Dutch Bros. was too crowded one day...and there it was, right across the street. I haven't gone back to Dutch Bros. since.

Great customer service! Really friendly and helpful staff. We were looking for good homemade bread, which they don't make, but they were happy to lead us in the right direction with a detailed hand-drawn map & instructions! We ordered the snicker doodle & chocolate chip cookies from the bakery, which were delicious. Great little stop on the way to the Redwoods!

Tana Marie, the owner of Blue Stone took over the former Java House about 3-4 years ago. Their breakfast burritos and mega muffins are always prepared on the spot so they are very tasty, filling and reasonably priced. Since remodeling, the atmosphere is very inviting and comfortable, there is wifi access, which is just catching on in this little hamlet. Sandwiches and quiche are also served. I'm not real big on the sandwiches and I think they are overpriced. They are "so so" in my experience. Tana's real forte is baking. Her sweets are divine. I definitely recommend special ordering her raw apple cake or pumpkin pie. Out of this world. The downfall in the cafe is that baked goods and the quiche may be prepared on Monday and are still being served Friday. I have a hard time getting around that, or getting around to eating any of that. At one time I highly recommended her Clam Chowder offered on Friday but if they're still offering it on Tuesday, stay away! I made the mistake of ordering CC on Tuesday and it was not good! I know, my bad ... I should have known better but I had a lapse in judgement that cost me a few hours of gastrointestinal diistress and cost Blue Stone two stars!
